Couldn’t have been prouder of my daughter Katherine last night who received her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from the University of Maryland’s School of Public Health.
As a mother of a growing young woman herself and Army wife, she went back to school, tackled and mastered many of the science classes that I and her mother avoided in our undergraduate years.
Kate’s major in this journey was clearly far different from her parents, but certainly had roots on both sides of her family.
Her grandmothers would have been beaming if they had been at the Xfiniti Center in College Park. One devoted her career to nursing and the other spent decades in hospital volunteering.
