Really Proud to Kick Off the Museum’s Winter Events Season.

My Topic: “How John Yates Beall and His Men
Became the Maritime Mosby Rangers”
What’s at Stake: Following a summer of battlefield disasters – Gettysburg, Vicksburg and Tullahoma in 1863 – what was needed was a glimmer of light, a show of daring, a triumph—of some kind.
Confederate John Yates Beall and his band of special volunteers – Maritime Mosby Rangers —would provide all three on the Chesapeake Bay.
John Grady, the author of “Matthew Fontaine Maury, Father of Oceanography, spoke on Maury at the museum in 2017.
Session begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.
In these days of pandemic, there is a small charge to defray the museum’s Zoom expenses.
