As we head into the “coronavirus hoax,” or “covid-19 fake news,” please, dear readers, do note this is the anniversary week of the opening of the Salem Witch Trials in 1692. A re-reading of Stacy Schiff’s book may be necessary to judge hysteria, outright lies, true and dire warnings, etc. Since there was no stock market indices at the time, we have no way of judging the financial impact of the event — critical to 45’s administration response to events of all kinds. Remember, viruses are not the only things coming over the border, as duly noted in Charleston by the president. I add he said nothing about witches zooming above them.
