Big Thank-You to Staff of Annapolis Maritime Museum and a Reminder.
Last night’s talk on John Yates Beall and Confederate raiders on the Chesapeake was a joy for me and the audience — all attributed to the attention to detail and expertise of the museum staff.
As Alice Estrada, museum president and CEO, and I noted we all want to get back to live, in-person events. I had that privilege five years, almost to the date, at the museum.
These have been trying times for all as individuals know and public institutions like the Annapolis Maritime Museum, feel. Museums, like Annapolis’ are critical resources and assets to better understand our communities and the people who live there.
In addition to the restrictions necessary to preserve public health and safety in a pandemic, Annapolis suffered major flooding damage this fall, complicating an already difficult financial picture.
The museum in Eastport is scheduled to re-open Friday Jan. 21. You can show your support by becoming a member or donating to its operations.
