At the Polls Today, Not Friday
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we did not join the 400 plus Fairfax County residents who chose to vote at a nearby community library.
When we checked Friday, after the unexpected delay, the line was long and there were more things to today.
On a gorgeous Saturday in October, we left the manse in the far reaches of Fairfax to return to the polls at 12:25 p.m. We dutifully parked the car went past the Republican tent and a recall the school board and joined the very short line at the same library.
Our duty done and stickers for grandchildren, the sedan rested in the garage at 12:57.
I thanked the election workers and the volunteers before leaving. Lillian and I both used the paper scan ballot, rather than the touch screen.
